And finally, MAY is Still MEMBERSHIP MONTH

Dear Members and Friends,

May has already gone by and we hope you were able to enjoy a long Memorial Day weekend at the lake.
As you have previously read, we set an ambitious goal of $34,500 in dues and contributions revenue from our members in 2022. So far, we’ve received $16,460. Thank you to everyone who has contributed already!
We know emails can slip by, so before this one does, please click HERE to get to our secure website to pay your dues and make your contribution. You can also mail a check to PO Box 45, Severance, NY 12872. We will be spending a record amount on milfoil control this year and next, so we need to collect a record amount from our members too. Aqualogic is already harvesting milfoil on the lake every weekday, weather permitting. Do your part to share in this expense. Help us protect your property values, help us keep our lake beautiful. And please remind your neighbors to do so too!

In Other Fund Raising News…

Members of our intrepid Fundraising Committee hosted a table at the Paradox Brewery this weekend and raised $800 in merchandise sales, 50/50 raffle, and donations, in addition to one very generous donation of $2,500!
Thank you to the Brewery for letting us host the table, and to member Teanna Fullen and others for showing up to manage it.

State of the Lake Meeting: June 25

After you’ve renewed your membership, please mark your calendar! We’ll be meeting IN PERSON at the Schroon Lake Town Hall from 10-12.

Special Guest Brian Greene will join us. Brian works for The Nature Conservancy and is the Aquatic Plant Species Coordinator for the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP). APIPP is a collaborative effort between APA, NYDEC and The Nature Conservancy. They monitor the spread of invasive plants throughout the Adirondacks, have done surveys of Paradox Lake since 2015 and have helped us extensively with our own volunteer monitoring efforts since 2019.

Getting ready for spring cleanup?

If you need to fertilize, remember to buy only a phosphorous-free fertilizer. Phosphorous gets into our lakes and rivers causing increased algae growth and reduced oxygen for our fish population.
