Greetings from Paradox,

We’ve had a good summer here, with a dry and hot July followed by a somewhat wetter August. As a community, we’ve had lots of summer guests and accommodated to the need to socially distance and keep safe.

At Paradox, we see the lake cooling off and slowly rising, the leaves starting to turn, the nights dipping into the 40s and 50s. The loons and owls call, the ospreys chirp and scan the lake for their supper, and the eagle visits from time to time.
 

PLA Raffle a Hit!

Invasives Update

Hint: HELP STILL NEEDED!

Aqualogic harvested in the Inlet Bay for 4 days and many many individual volunteers helped collect fragments and dig up plants in Paradox Creek and the shallower areas around the lake. Unfortunately, several of the divers are out of commission right now, and we probably won’t have another visit from Aqualogic till late September or October. In the meantime, there are still plenty of plants and fragments in the Inlet Bay and the Narrows, particularly in the shallow areas. Markers are still in place, and more markers may be needed. So, if you are trained in milfoil identification and/or removal, your help will be much appreciated and needed in marking, removal of fragments, and removal with cultivators or by snorkeling.
